Suman Abraham has a strong background in research and development in the field of cell therapy and regenerative medicine. They began their career as a Senior Research Associate at ES Cell International in 2002, where they worked until 2007. They then joined the A*STAR Institute of Medical Biology as a Senior Research Officer for two years before moving to ES Cell International Pte Ltd in 2009 as a Research & Lab Manager. In 2012, Suman joined Mesoblast Limited, where they held various positions over the years. They started as a Research Scientist, responsible for setting up Mesoblast's R&D site in Singapore and coordinating technology transfers. They then became an Associate Director of Research, managing the Singapore R&D site and supervising process development activities. Currently, Suman is a Manufacturing Technology Senior Director at Mesoblast, where they lead the liaison for manufacturing operations and drive process improvements and the introduction of new processes. They also lead the development and transfer of next-generation manufacturing technologies in line with the company's strategic plan.
Suman Abraham pursued their education in a series of academic institutions. In 1998, they completed their Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Microbiology, with a focus on General Microbiology, from VES College. Following this, they enrolled at the University of Mumbai and obtained their Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Microbiology, specializing in the General branch, in 2000. Subsequently, Suman continued their educational journey at the National University of Singapore, where they attained a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Biochemistry in 2009.
