Orie Steele

Orie Steele serves as a Principal Engineer at mesur.io and holds multiple roles within the Internet Engineering Task Force, including Area Director for Applications and Real-Time and co-chair of the Key Transparency Working Group and the Using TLS in Applications Working Group. As the CTO and Co-Founder of Transmute, Steele focuses on utilizing digital identity open standards to enhance credentialing processes for enterprise teams. Previous experience includes positions at W3C as an editor and author for critical digital identity standards, Staff Developer at athenahealth, and Senior Software Engineer at Patient IO. Early career roles included co-founding ProtoExchange and internships at Hess Corporation and The Burgiss Group. Orie Steele earned both a Master of Science in Computer Science and a Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity from Stevens Institute of Technology.
