David Jackson

Met Office Fellow

David Jackson is an experienced Met Office Fellow with a career spanning over three decades in meteorology and space weather research. Since joining the Met Office in August 1997, David has led initiatives to enhance space weather collaboration and operational services, managing the space weather research programme and overseeing quality assessments within the Numerical Weather Prediction System. In addition to contributions at the Met Office, David serves as a Visiting Professor at both the University of Exeter and the University of Bath, focusing on space weather projects and numerical modelling. David's early career includes roles as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Imperial College London and the University of Reading, as well as a Royal Society Fellow at Freie Universität Berlin, where research concentrated on middle atmosphere modelling and water vapour observations. David holds a PhD in Meteorology from The University of Edinburgh, an MSc from the University of Reading, and a BSc in Physics from the University of Strathclyde.
