Francesco Devoto

Francesco Devoto is a seasoned Scientific Software Engineer at Met Office since June 2020, with prior experience as a Software Developer at Plymouth Ocean Forecasting Centre, where responsibilities included developing underwater sound propagation software and Lagrangian particle tracking software. Previous positions include Software Engineer at ESRF, focusing on X-ray data analysis software, and Postdoctoral Researcher at the Finnish Meteorological Institute, specializing in data analysis and atmospheric aerosol detection. Francesco began a PhD in Elementary Particle Physics at the University of Helsinki in 2009, following a Master’s in the same field from University of Naples Federico II. Additionally, work experience spans software development at Strago s.p.a. and research at the University of Naples Federico II's Physics Department. Currently, Francesco is pursuing a Master of Science in Data Science at the University of Exeter.
