Jon Baker is a Senior Climate Scientist at the Met Office, where they focus on understanding the Atlantic overturning circulation and its vulnerability to global warming through climate models and observations. Previously, Jon served as a Met Office Scientist from 2019 to 2024 and as a Postgraduate Teaching Assistant and PhD Researcher at the University of Exeter from 2016 to 2019. Jon earned a PhD in Physical Oceanography from the University of Exeter, where they investigated the ocean's global circulation and its effects on atmospheric CO₂. Additionally, they hold a First Class MMet in Meteorology and Climate from the University of Reading, completed during a year at the University of Oklahoma.
