Alan K.

Alan K. possesses extensive experience in network architecture and infrastructure, having served as Principal Network Architect and Director of Infrastructure at Meta from 2015 to 2019. In these roles, Alan led a multinational team focused on fiber, submarine, and L3 architecture integration, directed the Zero Trust Networking Project, and advanced hybrid network architectures. Prior to Meta, Alan held the position of Lead Network Architect at Google from 2011 to 2015, where leadership of a team for SDN automation deployment and the design of an internal automated routing convergence testing framework were key achievements. Earlier in Alan's career, at Bloomberg from 1999 to 2003, optimization of North American backbone links and the introduction of MPLS backbone architecture played significant roles. Academic qualifications include a Master's degree in Computer Science from Stanford University and a Bachelor's degree in Computer and Information Sciences from the University of Maryland.
