Alex Himel is the Vice President of Wearables at Meta, a position they began in 2025. Previously, Alex served as Vice President of Augmented Reality at Facebook from 2009 to 2026. Before their role at Facebook, they worked at Microsoft as a Senior Software Design Engineer for Live Mesh and Live Framework, where they contributed to the development of pivotal web technologies. Alex holds a Master’s degree in Biomedical Informatics from Stanford University School of Medicine and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Stanford University.
