Andrew Birchall

Andrew Birchall is a seasoned software engineer with extensive experience in capacity management and software development. At Facebook, Andrew held multiple roles including Senior Staff SWE focused on Infra Resource Accounting, where the foundational team for resource accounting was established. Other significant contributions include enhancements to messaging infrastructure, the development of the Facebook Music product, and innovations in notification mechanics, such as a machine learning-based policy engine. Currently, as a Principal Software Engineer at Meta, Andrew leads the strategy and technical design for Capacity Management across various facets. Previous roles include web development at BlueSun and firmware engineering experience at Sandvine. Andrew holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Computer Engineering from the University of Waterloo.
