Angela Chao

Angela Chao is an accomplished researcher and software engineer with extensive experience in robotics and software development. As an Undergraduate Researcher at PoRTaL Lab, Angela is focused on low-level visuomotor skills and has contributed to a systems paper in submission to RSS, as well as trained and fine-tuned a Proximal Policy Optimization model. Prior involvement with Gael Force Robotics included designing and constructing competitive robots for the VEX Robotics Competition, where Angela held leadership roles. With internships at Meta, Gemini, and Expedia Group, Angela has developed skills in full-stack engineering, vulnerable code detection, and trip collaboration features. Angela is currently pursuing a Master of Engineering in Computer Science at Cornell University, building on a Bachelor of Science in the same field.
