Bing Chen

Bing Chen is an accomplished optical design engineer with extensive experience in the field, currently contributing to optical product development at Meta since April 2022. Prior roles include serving as a Lead Optical Engineer at IDEX Health & Science, LLC, and Senior Optical Engineers at both Rockley Photonics Inc. and Panasonic, where responsibilities encompassed wearable health monitor product development and optical system design for automotive applications, respectively. Previous experience includes positions at Visteon Corporation, North American Lighting, and Compoundphotonics Inc., focusing on optical design, optical tolerance, and stray light analysis across various projects. Bing Chen holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Miami and master's and bachelor's degrees in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering from Huazhong University of Science and Technology and Wuhan University of Technology, respectively.
