Cecily Gao

Cecily Gao has a diverse background in research and software engineering, beginning with a research internship at Magee-Womens Research Institute and Foundation, where relative ovarian toxicities of chemotherapeutics were studied. Subsequent experience includes a machine learning internship at PNC, developing predictive mortgage models, followed by software engineering internships at Facebook focused on AR/VR at Oculus and a current position at Meta in Reality Labs working on AR glasses. Additionally, Cecily held various roles at Yale University, including Head Engineering Guide, where responsibilities included managing the Engineering Tour Guide program and transitioning virtual programming during the COVID-19 pandemic, and several positions as a teaching assistant and research fellow focused on genetically engineering E. coli for plastic degradation.
