Cheng Liu

Cheng Liu has extensive experience in research and engineering within the semiconductor and materials science fields. Liu worked as a Failure Analysis Intern at ASML, focusing on material oxidation in EUV systems. Subsequently, as a Research Assistant at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Liu combined nucleation theory with experimental methods to investigate microstructural evolution in irradiated silicon carbide and developed image processing algorithms for microstructural defect identification. At Apple, Liu served as a Senior Machine Learning Engineer, leading the development of a machine learning algorithm that enhanced semiconductor yield during a global silicon shortage. Currently, as a Senior Research Scientist at Meta, Liu continues to contribute to advanced research in relevant technology. Earlier academic work includes undergraduate research at Harbin Institute of Technology, where Liu developed innovative materials synthesis methods.
