Chiara Daraio

Chiara Daraio is a distinguished academic and research scientist with extensive experience in mechanical engineering and applied physics. From January 2011 to December 2012, Chiara served as an Assistant Professor and then a Professor at the California Institute of Technology. Following that, from January 2013 to August 2016, Chiara held the position of Professor and Chair of Mechanics and Materials at ETH Zurich. Since August 2016, Chiara has been the G. Bradford Jones Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Applied Physics at Caltech, while also working as a Research Scientist at Meta since May 2022. Chiara completed an education at the University of California, San Diego, earning a degree between 2001 and 2006.
