Daniel Nourian

Daniel Nourian is a Staff Machine Learning Engineer at Meta, specializing in AI and machine learning for Facebook App Notifications since June 2024. Previously, Nourian served BMO for a decade, initially as Manager of Market and Counterparty Credit Risk, where responsibilities included developing market risk models for financial derivatives and implementing calibration processes in C#. As a Senior Manager of Machine Learning, Nourian led the Anti-Money Laundering Model Management team from 2022 to 2024 and oversaw model risk assessment for advanced AI and ML quantitative models that yielded significant business benefits. Earlier academic roles included Research Fellow at the University of Toronto and Lecturer at the University of Melbourne, with a focus on stochastic control and algorithmic trading strategies. Daniel Nourian holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering from McGill University, alongside a Master's in Applied Mathematics and a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering from Amirkabir University of Technology.
