Derek Mantey has extensive experience in software and hardware engineering, with a career spanning from 2005 to the present. Derek held various engineering roles at Microsoft from August 2021 to April 2023, progressing from Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to Senior Software Engineer. Prior to Microsoft, Derek gained experience as a Hardware Engineer Co-Op at Bird Technologies and Harris RF Communications in 2005 and 2006, respectively. Currently, Derek works as an Embedded Software Engineer at Meta since May 2023. Derek holds a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering with a Computer Engineering option from the Rochester Institute of Technology, completed in 2007.
