Derek Sears

Derek Sears has extensive experience in mechanical design and engineering, holding positions at various esteemed companies. As a Mechanical Designer at Crux Automation from January 2008 to March 2009, Derek worked on parametric 3D modeling, product development for Philips Sonicare, and R&D for Boeing 787 automated inspection robotics. Transitioning to Dimension4 from April 2009 to January 2011 as an Engineering Project Manager, Derek led military design contracts and managed complex projects involving submarine power systems and electrical schematic design. From April 2011 to March 2018, Derek served as a Mechanical Engineer at Thermetrics, overseeing the design of thermoregulatory testing devices and ensuring compliance with ASTM and ISO standards. Currently, since March 2018, Derek is the Hardware Engineering Lead at Meta. Derek holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Olympic College and an Associate of Arts from Wenatchee Valley College.
