Dima Karamshuk

Staff Research Scientist

Dima Karamshuk has extensive experience in machine learning and systems design, having served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at King's College London from August 2013 to August 2016, where collaboration with the British Broadcasting Corporation led to the development of ML-based content delivery solutions for BBC iPlayer. As the co-founder and CEO of Stanfy from July 2005 to August 2010 and a Principal Data Scientist at Skyscanner from September 2016 to June 2019, Dima played a key role in flight search and recommendations, including the creation of award-winning “mashup” fares. Further contributions include a position as a Staff Research Scientist at Meta since July 2019, focusing on human-in-the-loop AI systems, and as a co-founder of Marla starting in March 2023, dedicated to mapping global ocean water quality. Academic credentials include a Master of Science in Computer Science from the National Technical University of Ukraine 'Kyiv Polytechnic Institute' and a Doctor of Philosophy from Scuola IMT Alti Studi Lucca.
