Dong Nie

Dong Nie is currently a Staff Engineer at Meta, starting in November 2023. Previously, Dong Nie worked as a Staff Engineer and Head of Perception at Alibaba Group, focusing on intelligent driving and generative AI for multi-modality products. Dong Nie also held roles as a Research Assistant at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, with research interests in machine learning-based medical image analysis and text mining, particularly in adversarial confidence learning for medical image segmentation. Additional experience includes a summer internship at Baidu developing CNN systems for Android platforms and holding a position as a Research Scientist/Senior Algorithm Engineer, specializing in visual recognition and perception for mapping and autonomous driving. Dong Nie holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a Master's Degree in Computer Science from the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, and a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from Northeastern University.
