Francesco LaRocca

Research Scientist, Eye Tracking

Francesco LaRocca is an accomplished optical sensing hardware engineer with extensive experience in developing advanced sensing technologies and eye tracking solutions. At Apple, from July 2018 to September 2020, Francesco designed and launched next-generation sensing technologies. Previously, Francesco held roles as Senior Optical Sensing Hardware Engineer, Graduate Research Assistant, and Research Associate at Duke University from August 2011 to May 2016. Since July 2021, Francesco has been a Research Scientist focusing on eye tracking at Meta. Academic qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Biomedical Engineering from Duke University, achieved in 2016, and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Biomedical Engineering from the same institution, completed in 2011. Additionally, Francesco was a Postdoctoral Scholar at the University of California, Berkeley School of Optometry from September 2016 to June 2018.
