Gaurav Mathur

Gaurav Mathur is an accomplished technology leader with extensive experience in engineering and entrepreneurship. Currently serving as the Engineering Director for AR Foundations at Meta since August 2020, Gaurav oversees the development of critical connectivity technologies for augmented reality devices. Prior to this role, Gaurav was the Engineering Lead for Wear OS at Google, where efforts focused on advancing wearables and connectivity solutions. As CEO and Co-Founder of Electric Sheep Inc., Gaurav developed an innovative health and fitness assistant that was acquihired by Google. Additional entrepreneurial experience includes co-founding Defend7, which secured enterprise application perimeters, and 3LM, known for pioneering Android enterprise management solutions. Gaurav's background includes significant roles at Motorola, Google, Intel, and Microsoft Research. Gaurav holds a Master's degree in Computer Science from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and an MSc in Computer Science from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani.
