Greg Meyer currently serves as a Staff Research Scientist at Meta since May 2025. Previously, Greg held the same title at Cruise from September 2021 to January 2025, where leadership was provided to a team exploring perception-related topics for autonomous driving. Prior experience includes a role as a Senior Software Engineer at Uber Advanced Technologies Group from January 2017 to February 2021, focusing on real-time 3D object detection and motion forecasting for self-driving vehicles. Greg began a career in research at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign as a Research Assistant from August 2011 to December 2016, investigating computer vision techniques with 3D sensors. An internship at Google in 2015 contributed to work on capturing room-size environments. Greg holds both a Ph.D. and a Master of Science in Computer Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
