Guan Pang

Guan Pang is an accomplished researcher with extensive experience in computer science and artificial intelligence. At Meta from July 2016 to November 2022, Guan held the position of Senior Research Scientist Manager, leading initiatives in multimodal image data, movie generation data, and on-device OCR. Prior experience at Facebook AI included serving as a Research Scientist, focusing on OCR technology, video generation, semantic segmentation, and 3D object detection. While at the University of Southern California, Guan was a Research Assistant specializing in 3D point cloud multi-view object detection and also served as a Teaching Assistant for Artificial Intelligence. Additional experience includes a research role at Oculus VR, where Guan worked on RGB-D human skeleton detection, and a research assistantship at Tsinghua University, focusing on human detection and image processing. Guan holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Southern California and a Master's degree in Electronics Engineering from Tsinghua University.
