Hoonie Kwon

Hoonie Kwon has a diverse background in research and software engineering, beginning with experience as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Penn State University, where research focused on the impact of pesticides on soybean fields. Hoonie continued to develop technical skills as a Software Engineering Intern at Imprivata, enhancing a fingerprint recognition algorithm. Hoonie worked at McGill University as an Undergraduate Researcher, applying machine learning techniques for predicting protein-protein interface sites relevant to drug design. Hoonie then took on the role of Software Engineer ML at Snap Finance, working on real-time machine learning based credit decisioning, before transitioning to a current position as an SWE ML at Meta. Additionally, Hoonie spent time as a monk in a spiritual community and contributed to nonprofit efforts at Armstrong High School.
