Ian Jirka is an experienced software engineer and educator with a diverse background in game and software production, cloud services, and mixed reality technologies. As an adjunct faculty member at DigiPen Institute of Technology from March 2022 to June 2023, Ian supported students in their senior projects and career development. Ian's tenure at Microsoft from 2011 to 2014 involved leading various teams in significant projects, including the Windows Azure Fabric reliability infrastructure and Windows Hello facial recognition technology, as well as the Surface Hub OS. Ian also served as a senior software engineer at Enron, contributing to natural gas trading systems, and was a software architect at ePS Networks, a Siemens subsidiary. Currently, Ian is employed as a software engineer at Meta, starting in June 2023.
