Jay Tsao is a seasoned technology professional with extensive experience in silicon architecture and hardware design. Currently serving as the Technical Director for SoC Architecture at Meta since September 2018, Jay leads efforts in developing custom silicon solutions for the AR/VR sector. Prior to Meta, Jay held various influential roles, including Principal Architect at Microsoft from June 2012 to September 2018, where involvement in the Quantum Silicon team focused on cryogenic computing and superconducting logic. Jay also contributed as a Senior Member Technical Staff at AMD from March 2005 to June 2012, specializing in processor architecture, and worked as a Hardware Design Engineer at Hewlett-Packard from September 1998 to March 2005, where Jay was engaged in RTL logic design for enterprise servers. Jay Tsao earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering from Texas A&M University and a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University.
