Jed Cummings

Jed Cummings is a mechanical engineer with extensive experience in research and development across various organizations. Currently employed at Meta since August 2025, Jed previously held multiple roles at Dephy, Inc. from January 2019 to August 2025, including Technical Program Manager and Senior Robotics Engineer, focusing on performance exoskeletons and human augmentation. Jed's earlier career includes a mechanical engineering position at MIT Lincoln Laboratory, where responsibilities involved advanced optical and electro-mechanical systems prototyping. As a Robotics Engineering Consultant at the Laboratory of Perceptual Robotics, Jed led the mechanical system development for the uBot-7. Additionally, experiences range from hands-on design and engineering internships at International Electronic Machines Corporation and GE, to reliability engineering at Hasbro, and foundational carpentry at TDT Builders. Jed holds a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
