Jianer (Valerie) Bao is a highly experienced materials scientist with a robust background in battery technology, fuel cells, and advanced materials development. With a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from Penn State University, Jianer began a career as a Ceramic Engineer at General Electric, focusing on the fabrication of alumina tubes and quality control processes. Jianer then served as a Postdoctoral researcher at SRI International, specializing in solid oxide fuel cells and battery materials. Subsequently, Jianer held roles at Apple, where leadership in the development of high voltage cathode materials was realized, and at PARC, contributing to advancements in battery and fuel cell technologies. Currently, Jianer is an AR/VR Materials Technology Engineer at Meta, leading the charging interface platform while also managing the Applied Materials team, focusing on innovative material solutions for next-generation hardware.
