Joe Mathai

Joe Mathai has extensive experience in machine learning and software engineering, beginning with a role as a Research Assistant at Robotic Embedded Systems Laboratory where RL-based active learning strategies were developed. A Data Science Internship at Sense Labs Inc provided foundational data analysis skills. Joe advanced to a Research Programmer position at Information Sciences Institute, focusing on optimizing neural networks and developing a multispectral camera system for biometrics. As a Senior Research Engineer at USC Information Sciences Institute, real-time ML pipelines for super-resolution, 3D pose estimation, and tracking were created, alongside building transformer-based models for multimodal learning. Currently, Joe is a Software Engineer in Machine Learning at Meta. Educational background includes studies at the University of Southern California and Model Engineering College.
