Joel Cheang

Joel Cheang is a legal professional with extensive experience in intellectual property, technology, and privacy law. Beginning a career as an Infantry Officer in the Singapore Armed Forces from January 2005 to December 2006, Joel transitioned to legal roles, including a Legal Associate position at Lee & Lee, where a focus was placed on intellectual property and personal data protection laws. Subsequent positions included a Managing Associate at Linklaters, providing M&A support and data privacy regulation, and Lead Commercial Counsel at Meta. Presently, Joel serves as Associate General Counsel at Meta, concentrating on payment experiences and financial inclusion in the APAC region. Additional experience includes a secondment at Uber and an internship at Rodyk & Davidson, alongside academic credentials from the National University of Singapore.
