John Calabrese is a mathematician with extensive experience in data science and software engineering. Between 2014 and 2018, John served as the G.C. Evans Instructor and NSF Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Rice University, where significant contributions included solving the 'Crepant Resolution Conjecture' within Donaldson–Thomas theory. Subsequent roles included Senior Data Scientist positions at SupportLogic, Inc. and Walmart Global Tech, as well as a Research Investigator position at MD Anderson Cancer Center, where John developed Convolutional Neural Networks for tumor image segmentation. Currently, John is a Software Engineer at Meta, focusing on next-generation timeseries databases, and serves as a Data Science Mentor at SharpestMinds. Additionally, John holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Mathematics from the University of Oxford and is pursuing an undergraduate degree in Mathematics from Università di Pisa.
