John Rafael Perez serves as the Associate General Counsel for Youth Protection & Well-Being at Meta, where responsibilities include supporting features for Instagram's "Teen Accounts" and advising on youth online safety initiatives. Previously, Perez held roles within Meta focusing on global feature launches and data privacy programs. Prior to joining Meta, Perez practiced law at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, where significant achievements included securing dismissals in high-profile lawsuits involving Hulu, Disney, YouTube, and Spotify. Perez also completed a clerkship at the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and gained experience in litigation and corporate law at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP. Perez earned a Juris Doctor from Yale Law School.
