Jonathan Wittmer

Jonathan Wittmer possesses a diverse background in engineering and research, with extensive experience in machine learning, mathematics, and high-performance distributed computing. As a Graduate Research Assistant at The University of Texas at Austin from May 2019 to May 2023, Jonathan focused on accelerating large-scale Bayesian inverse problem solutions through innovations in data-informed regularization, randomized methods, and scientific machine learning techniques. Previous roles include software and avionics development at MEGGITT Aircraft Braking Systems and LTA Research, as well as purchasing automation at Schaeffler. Additionally, Jonathan interned as a Research Engineer at Meta, where collaboration and algorithm development for computer vision software were key responsibilities. Jonathan holds a Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering from The University of Akron and a PhD in Computational Science, Engineering, and Mathematics from The University of Texas at Austin.
