Joongwon Kim

Joongwon (Daniel) Kim has a strong academic background in computer science, earning a Bachelor of Applied Science from the University of Pennsylvania and currently pursuing a PhD at the University of Washington. Experience includes roles as a Computer Science Teaching Assistant for both undergraduate and graduate courses at the University of Pennsylvania, where Joongwon facilitated learning in algorithms and natural language processing. Additionally, Joongwon has contributed to research at the Penn Center for Neuroengineering and Therapeutics, developing a high-accuracy seizure detection algorithm, and has curated NLP datasets during undergraduate research at Penn Engineering. Currently serving as a Graduate Research Assistant at the Paul G. Allen School of Computer Science & Engineering, Joongwon's work focuses on NLP, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. Recent experience also includes a role as a Visiting Researcher and Research Scientist Intern at Meta, specifically within the Llama post-training team.
