Josh Plotkin is an experienced data professional with a diverse background in data science, data engineering, and online poker. From 2006 to 2015, Josh operated as an Online Poker Professional while also serving as the Executive Producer for DeucesCracked, a poker training site. After transitioning into data roles, Josh worked at Metapraxis as a Data Visualization Consultant, where dashboards were developed for WPP plc, and then at Pivotal Software, Inc. in multiple roles including Data Scientist II, Senior Data Scientist, and Data Engineer, contributing to significant projects such as financial crime detection and IoT data processing. Currently, Josh serves as an Applied Research Scientist at Meta. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree in Operations Research and a Master’s Degree in Computer Science with a focus on Machine Learning, both from Columbia Engineering.
