Joshua Cobb is an experienced optical scientist and educator with a robust background in optics. Currently serving as an Adjunct Faculty at the University of Rochester since August 2018, Joshua teaches Introduction to Illumination. Previously, Joshua worked for Monroe Community College from September 2008 to September 2018 as an Adjunct Associate Professor of Optics, instructing lab courses and Optical Instrumentation and Testing. Joshua's industry experience includes positions as an Optical Scientist at Meta since June 2022 and as a Senior Research Scientist at Eastman Kodak from June 1996 to June 2005, where Joshua designed various optical systems for product development. Additionally, Joshua held the role of Senior Optical Systems Engineer at Corning Incorporated from July 2005 to May 2022, leading projects for the Very High Efficiency Solar Cell program and developing numerous optical products. Joshua began a career in optics as a Staff Optical Engineer at IBM from July 1988 to June 1996, contributing to semiconductor manufacturing equipment and co-founding IBM Optical Development Services. Joshua holds a BS and an MS in Optics from the University of Rochester.
