Joyce Tam

Joyce Tam is an accomplished researcher specializing in human-computer interaction and cognitive psychology. Currently serving as a UX Research Scientist at Meta, Joyce previously held a research position at the U.S. Army DEVCOM Army Research Laboratory, where responsibilities included developing VR/AR test suites to enhance human-AI teaming in combat scenarios, leveraging expertise in human visual perception and attention. Joyce's academic background includes a PhD in Cognitive Psychology from Penn State University, where research focused on visual awareness and human performance, along with a Master of Philosophy from The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Additional experience includes a research internship at the University of California, Los Angeles, involving experimental studies on visual image presentation for learning outcomes.
