Kris Kitani is an accomplished researcher and educator with extensive experience in computer vision, machine learning, and human-robot interaction. Kris served as an Assistant Research Professor and later an Associate Research Professor at Carnegie Mellon University, focusing on a variety of topics including wearable cameras, activity forecasting, pedestrian detection, and neural network applications. Kris has directed the Masters of Science in Computer Vision program at Carnegie Mellon University's Robotics Institute and currently works as an AI Research Scientist at Meta. Additional roles include Cooperative Research Fellow at the University of Tokyo and previous positions at KLA-Tencor and the University of Electro-Communications. Educational qualifications include a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern California and both an MS and PhD in Information and Communications Engineering from the University of Tokyo.
