Kris Wehner is an accomplished engineering leader with extensive experience in the technology sector. At Meta from September 2017 to May 2023, Kris served as a Senior Engineering Director overseeing the Messenger Core Experiences engineering team, focusing on core Messenger products, Instagram Direct Messaging, and Generative AI. Additionally, Kris led efforts to innovate consumer interfaces in Virtual Reality and managed teams developing advertiser-facing interfaces for Facebook apps. Following tenure at Meta, Kris joined Lacework as an Engineering Leader in June 2023. Prior experience includes serving as Vice President of Engineering for Yelp Reservations, where Kris played a key role in the development and growth of the Yelp SeatMe product, leading to its acquisition by Yelp. Kris holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering from Case Western Reserve University.
