Lei Wang

Lei Wang is a Research Scientist at Meta since July 2022, specializing in advancements in photonic technologies. From September 2017 to June 2022, Lei served as a Graduate Research Assistant at UC Santa Barbara, focusing on the development of high-quality InAs/GaAs quantum dot lasers and their integration with silicon photonic platforms. Prior experience includes an internship as an Optical Scientist at Facebook in late 2021, where Lei worked on photonic integrated circuit technologies, and a role as a Research Project Assistant at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, developing high-power quantum cascade lasers. Lei's research journey began as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Shandong University, where work involved simulating nonlinear optical processes. Lei holds a PhD in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from UC Santa Barbara and a BS in Physics from Shandong University.
