Luning Pan is a seasoned software engineer with extensive experience in leading engineering teams and developing recommendation systems. Currently at Meta since May 2025, Luning contributes to the MRS Foundation. Prior experience includes serving as the Head of Engineering for TikTok in the U.S., where Luning established the TikTok US and TikTok Vertical Recommendation Architecture teams, supporting multiple key products. Luning's background also includes a role as Staff Software Engineer at Facebook, where significant contributions were made to various ranking infrastructures, and earlier positions at NVIDIA and Intel Corporation. Luning holds a Master’s degree in Computer Technology/Computer Systems Technology from Carnegie Mellon University and previously studied at Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
