Mark Harman

Mark Harman has extensive experience in software engineering and computer science, currently serving as a Senior Research Scientist at Meta since February 2017. Prior to this, Mark held the position of Professor of Software Engineering at UCL and was the Director of the CREST center from 2006 to 2017. Mark's academic career includes roles as a Reader in Software Engineering at Brunel University and Head of Computing at the University of North London. Mark co-founded Majicke Limited, which was acquired by Facebook, and has held various research and engineering positions across multiple organizations, contributing to fields such as software testing, source code analysis, and metaheuristic search-based optimization. Academic qualifications include a PhD in computer science from the Polytechnic of North London and an MEng in Software Engineering from Imperial College London.
