Markus Marks has extensive experience in the field of neuroscience and computer vision, beginning with an undergraduate research assistant role at Technische Universität Dresden's Institute for Medical Informatics and Biomet from August 2011 to September 2012 and serving as an undergraduate teaching assistant in Mathematics. Following this, Markus was a visiting PhD student at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's High-Throughput Neurotechnology Group from November 2014 to November 2015. Afterward, Markus worked as a postdoctoral researcher at ETH Zürich from November 2020 to May 2022, specializing in machine learning applications in neuroscience, and continued as a postdoctoral researcher in computer vision at Caltech from May 2022 to December 2024. Currently, Markus is employed as a research scientist at Meta, starting in February 2025, focusing on developing foundational computer vision models at Meta's FAIR.
