Matthew Chua

Matthew Chua is a Senior Research Scientist at Meta, leading research programs focused on Human Factors and User Safety for Virtual Reality and Smart Wearable products since August 2022. Prior to this, Matthew served as Lead Researcher at Nike's Sport Research Lab from July 2015 to August 2022, where responsibilities included driving innovation through biomechanics research and developing research protocols for various sports footwear. Earlier experience includes roles as a Clinical and Research Engineer at Children's Hospital Los Angeles, where Matthew managed clinical and research needs related to biomechanics data, and as a Research Assistant at Marquette University, concentrating on sensorimotor impairment. Matthew holds a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from Marquette University, where academic involvement also included a Bachelor's degree in the same field.
