Maxwell Nye is a seasoned research scientist currently working at Meta since July 2025. Prior to this role, Maxwell served as a research scientist at Amazon from June 2024 to June 2025 and co-founded Adept AI Labs, where contributions were made from December 2021 to June 2024. Early experience includes roles as a student researcher and research intern on the Google Brain team, focusing on program synthesis and machine learning, during a brief tenure at Google in 2021. Additionally, Maxwell gained research experience as an intern at Facebook AI in the summer of 2020. Maxwell holds a PhD in Artificial Intelligence from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, earned in January 2022, and a BA in Physics from Harvard University, completed in January 2017.
