Mazda Moayeri

Research Scientist, Meta Superintelligence Labs

Mazda Moayeri is a research scientist with extensive experience in artificial intelligence, having worked at Meta from February 2025 to October 2023, where contributions included developing a novel diversity-aware zero-shot classification paradigm utilizing large language models and vision+language models. Prior to that, a research role at Microsoft during June 2024 to September 2024 involved creating an automated method to diagnose skill deficiencies of large language models and multi-modal large language models, with findings published in the ICLR 2025 paper "Unearthing Skill-level Insights for Understanding Trade-offs of Foundation Models." Earlier experience includes a software engineering internship at Indeed.com in 2019 that focused on machine learning model training and analysis. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Maryland (2020-2025), a Master of Science in Computer Science from the University of Maryland (2020-2022), a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from Harvey Mudd College (2016-2020), and studies in Mobility Studies, Deep Learning and Distributed Computing at ETH Zürich (2019).
