Michael Gummelt has extensive experience in software engineering and leadership across multiple high-impact roles. As a Senior Software Engineer at Mesosphere from 2015 to 2017, Michael was a founding member of the Data Services team and led the development of the Mesos scheduler for Apache Spark, significantly influencing its integration with distributed systems. Michael served as the sole developer of GRiTS at Enthought and later founded Plato, which offers database solutions for Postgres and MySQL. Currently, as a Staff Production Engineer at Meta since February 2025, Michael has also contributed to the migration of services at X and established a foundation in backend engineering at a mobile payments startup. Educationally, Michael holds two Master's degrees in Computer Science from Stanford University, earned in 2011 and 2014.
