Michael Mangarella

Michael Mangarella is an accomplished data scientist and educator with extensive experience in both academic and industry settings. Currently a Data Scientist at Meta, Michael has previously held positions such as Senior Data Scientist at HUMAN and Data Scientist at SparkBeyond. Michael contributed to the development of real-time detection systems for fraud and abuse and has mentored individuals transitioning into data science as a Technical Advisor at Insight Data Science. Michael's academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology, where research focused on carbide-derived carbon adsorbents for toxic gas filtration. Michael also has experience in the pharmaceutical industry, having worked as an R&D Intern at PKC Pharmaceuticals, and has co-founded a company, Ipsum Nano.
