Ming Chen

Ming Chen is a Research Scientist at Meta since October 2025, with previous experience as a Principal Research Engineer at OPPO from June 2018 to September 2025, where responsibilities included leading projects on video diffusion inpainting, segmentation, video moment retrieval, and multimodal video summarization. Prior to that, Ming served as a Senior Staff Research Engineer and Research Scientist at the University of California, Davis from September 2012 to May 2018, contributing to the development of the Synthetic Diagnostic Platform for microwave imaging and algorithms for magnetohydrodynamic fluctuations and micro-turbulence. Ming began an academic career as an Undergraduate Student Researcher at the University of Science and Technology of China from September 2010 to June 2012 and holds a PhD from the University of California, Davis, earned between 2012 and 2018, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Applied Physics from the University of Science and Technology of China, obtained in 2012.
