Onur Atan is a Senior Machine Learning Engineer at Meta since February 2025, bringing extensive experience from previous roles including Staff Machine Learning Engineer and Senior Machine Learning Engineer at Qualcomm from November 2018 to January 2025. At UCLA, Onur served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant from September 2014 to August 2017, and completed a Ph.D. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering there in January 2018, following a Master’s Degree in the same field. Additionally, Onur completed an internship at Hitachi America, Ltd. in mid-2017, focusing on Prognostics and Health Management, where a Recurrent Neural Network was designed to analyze time-series sensor data. Prior research experience includes serving as a Visiting Student in Research at Yale University in summer 2012.
