Rafal Rak

Rafal Rak is an accomplished machine learning and natural language processing expert with extensive experience in academia and industry. From April 2010 to January 2014, Rafal held various positions, including Research Associate, Honorary Research Fellow, and Research Fellow at The University of Manchester. Following this, Rafal co-founded InfraNet and served as a Software Developer from 2000 to 2002, and later worked as a Software Developer at Grupa Onet.pl SA until 2004. Rafal was a Research Assistant, Teaching Assistant, and later a Sessional/Principal Instructor at the University of Alberta while pursuing a PhD from 2004 to 2009. Between 2018 and 2021, Rafal served as the Head of Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing and Senior Machine Learning Scientist at Digital Science. Currently, Rafal is the Lead Machine Learning Engineer at Meta since June 2021. Rafal holds a PhD from the University of Alberta and an M.Sc. from AGH University of Science and Technology.
